Pilates is a highly effective form of exercise which focuses on the balanced development of the whole body to strengthen muscles, develop flexibility, increase coordination and improve posture, health and wellbeing.
Clinical Pilates is pilates, conducted and supervised by qualified Physiotherapists who have undertaken further postgraduate training in Pilates. At Bodyworks Physiotherapy & PIlates Studio, we have completed all 4 levels of training with DMA (Dance Medicine Australia), who are at the forefront of clinical pilates development, training and research in Australia and internationally.

Clinical Pilates exercises also create a correct foundation (pelvic floor and lower abdominal muscles – usually termed core strength) for larger muscles to work more efficiently and may help take pressure off stressed joints and muscles. Clinical Pilates incorporates using pieces of equipment including exercise balls, pilates rings, resistance bands, rollers, reformers, and trapeze tables.
Combining Physiotherapy and Pilates is an excellent way to treat and prevent injuries
